1아마샤가 위에 나아갈 때에 나이 이십오 세라 예루살렘에서 이십구 년을 치리하니라 그 모친의 이름은 여호앗단이라 예루살렘 사람이더라
1Amaziah was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Jehoaddan, of Jerusalem.
2아마샤가 여호와 보시기에 정직히 행하기는 하였으나 온전한 마음으로 행치 아니하였더라
2He did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, but not with a perfect heart.
3그 나라가 굳게 서매 그 부왕을 죽인 신복들을 죽였으나
3Now when the kingdom was established to him, he killed his servants who had killed the king his father.
4저희 자녀는 죽이지 아니하였으니 이는 모세 율법 책에 기록한 대로 함이라 곧 여호와께서 명하여 이르시기를 자녀로 인하여 아비를 죽이지 말 것이요 아비로 인하여 자녀를 죽이지 말 것이라 오직 각 사람은 자기의 죄로 인하여 죽을 것이니라 하셨더라
4But he didn’t put their children to death, but did according to that which is written in the law in the book of Moses, as Yahweh commanded, saying, “The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin.”
5아마샤가 유다 사람을 모으고 그 여러 족속을 따라 천부장과 백부장을 세우되 유다와 베냐민을 함께 그리하고 이십 세 이상으로 계수하여 창과 방패를 잡고 능히 전장에 나갈만한 자 삼십만을 얻고
5Moreover Amaziah gathered Judah together, and ordered them according to their fathers’ houses, under captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, even all Judah and Benjamin: and he numbered them from twenty years old and upward, and found them three hundred thousand chosen men, able to go out to war, who could handle spear and shield.
